How to read this chart
These values follow the most widely used convention: the seven notes of the C major scale, tuned to A = 440 Hz, assigned from the root chakra (C) up to the crown chakra (B). Other traditions use different frequencies, for example the Solfeggio scale, so you will see other numbers on other sites. The pairing of notes and chakras is a tradition used in sound healing, not a scientific result.
Handmade bowls are not exactly on pitch
Our bowls are hand-hammered from a seven-metal alloy, so every bowl has its own voice. A bowl sold as a "root chakra" bowl will sound close to C, but the exact frequency, and its overtones, differ from bowl to bowl and also depend on how you strike or play it. Larger bowls sound lower, and smaller bowls sound higher. If the exact note matters to you, ask us for the measured note of the exact bowl before you buy.
